If you are on long term medication it may be necessary for you to renew your prescription. Request repeat prescriptions in writing, by fax or in person using the repeat prescription slip with the drugs requested ticked appropriately.

You are usually prescribed two months’ supply of drugs and you are allowed a total of three repeats before you need to see the doctor to discuss whether you should continue with the medication. This is for your own safety and to avoid you taking too many and unnecessary drugs. Please allow 24 hours for repeat prescriptions. Please also see our separate leaflets on these topics.
